How to Delete Your Account
Option 1: Delete Through the App
Follow these steps:
- Open the FabMeet app on your iPhone or iPad
- Go to your Profile (tap your photo in the bottom right)
- Tap the Settings icon (gear icon in the top right)
- Scroll down and tap "Account Settings"
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Read the information about what will be deleted
- Select a reason for leaving (optional but helpful)
- Tap "Delete My Account"
- Enter your password to confirm
- Tap "Confirm Deletion"
Option 2: Request Deletion via Email
If you can't access the app, you can request account deletion by email:
- Send an email to: privacy@fabmeet.com
- Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
- Include: Your registered phone number or email address
- Include: Your full name as it appears on your profile
- We'll process your request within 48 hours
What Gets Deleted
Immediately Deleted
When you delete your account, the following is removed immediately:
- Your profile becomes invisible to all users
- You're removed from all matches' match lists
- Your profile photos and bio
- Your preferences and settings
- Your location data
- Active conversations (from your view)
Deleted Within 30 Days
The following data is permanently deleted within 30 days:
- All personal information (name, age, phone number, email)
- All photos and media you uploaded
- Verification photos and documents
- Message history and conversations
- Match history and swipe data
- Account activity logs
- Account activity logs
What We Retain
For legal, security, and fraud prevention purposes, we may retain certain anonymized data:
- Anonymized analytics data (no personal identifiers)
- Records of policy violations or bans (to prevent re-registration)
- Transaction records (required by law for 7 years)
- Data required for ongoing legal proceedings
This retained data cannot be linked back to you and is used only for the purposes stated in our Privacy Policy.
Important Information
Account Deletion is Permanent
Once your account is deleted, it cannot be recovered. You'll need to create a new account if you want to use FabMeet again, and you'll lose:
- All your matches and conversations
- Your verification status (you'll need to verify again)
- Your verification status (you'll need to verify again)
- Your profile history and preferences
Messages to Other Users
While your account and messages are deleted from your view, other users may still see messages you sent them until they delete their conversations. However, your profile will show as "Deleted User" and they won't be able to view your profile or contact you.
Alternatives to Deletion
Take a Break Instead
If you're not ready to permanently delete your account, consider these alternatives:
Pause Your Account
- Go to Settings → Account Settings → Pause Account
- Your profile becomes invisible to others
- You won't receive matches or messages
- Your data is preserved
- Unpause anytime to resume
Adjust Privacy Settings
- Limit who can see your profile
- Turn off notifications
- Reduce your active hours
Delete the App (Not Your Account)
- Remove the app from your device
- Your account remains active but you won't receive notifications
- Reinstall anytime to access your account
Data Export
Download Your Data
Before deleting your account, you can request a copy of your data:
- Go to Settings → Privacy → Download My Data
- Tap "Request Data Export"
- We'll email you a download link within 48 hours
- The link is valid for 7 days
- Download includes: profile info, photos, messages, and activity data
After Deletion
Confirmation
You'll receive an email confirmation when your account is deleted. If you don't receive this email within 24 hours, check your spam folder or contact us.
Creating a New Account
You can create a new FabMeet account at any time using a different phone number or email. However:
- You'll start fresh with no previous data
- You'll need to complete verification again
- Previous matches won't be restored
- If you were banned, you cannot create a new account
